Description:

Patients: This Phase I/II study involved 62 patients with stage IIIA (28 patients) or IIIB (34 patients) non-small-cell lung cancer. None of the patients had received prior chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

Treatment: Treatment consisted of chemotherapy, carboplatin (paraplatin) and paclitaxel (taxol) in combination with radiotherapy (high-dose conformal).

Toxicity: Toxicities included grade 4 hematologic, grade 3-4 esophagitis, and stage 3 malaise/fatigue.

Results: The median survival time was 24 months.
