Description:

Patients:
This phase II study involved 87 patients with stage IIIA/B non-small cell lung cancer. Of these, the median age was 64 years and 57% were male.

Treatment:
Patients in this study were treated with the biologic therapy agent cetuximab and with chemoradiotherapy, which is a combination of radiation therapy and the chemotherapy agents paclitaxel and carboplatin.

Toxicities:
There were five treatment-related deaths reported for this study, causes of which included respiratory problems and infection.

Results:
The reported median overall survival was 22.7 months.
