Description:

Patients:
This phase II study involved 40 patients with untreated advanced colorectal cancer. The median age of the patients was 63 years and 29 were males.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents S-1 and irinotecan.

Toxicities:
The highest toxicity grade reported was grade 4, including leukopenia and neutropenia. Grade 3 anorexia and diarrhea were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 21 months and the median progression-free survival was 6.7 months.
