Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 45 advanced or recurrent colorectal cancer patients who were not previously treated. The average patient age was 62 years and 27 were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents S-1 and irinotecan.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 3 and included neutropenia, anorexia, and diarrhea. Grade 2 fatigue and alopecia were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 20.9 months.
