Description:

Patients: This study involved 53 patients with renal cell carcinoma. Most of the patients (41) had papillary tumors, and the rest had chromophobe tumors. The median age was 59, ranging from 24 to 83.

Treatment: Patients were treated with either sunitinib or sorafenib. These biological therapies work by affecting the growth of tumors and blood vessels.

Toxicity: The toxicity grades were not reported. The toxicities included fatigue, rash, and diarrhea.

Result: The median overall survival was 19.6 months.
