Description:

Patients: This phase I/II study involved 26 women with platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer. Their median age was 62, ranging from 28 to 75 years of age.

Treatment: Patients were treated with the chemotherapy drugs topotecan and carboplatin.

Toxicity: Grade 3 and 4 anemia, leucopenia, neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, nausea, and emesis were reported. Grade 3 hypersensitivity occurred in one patient. Other grade 1 and 2 toxicities were alopecia and hypersensitivity.

Results: The median overall survival was 19.4 months.
