Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 37 advanced cutaneous T cell lymphoma patients. The median patient age was 56 years and 54% were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent doxorubicin HCl liposome injection and the biologic therapy agent bexarotene (a synthetic retinoid that targets the RXR receptor).

Toxicities:
There was one treatment-related death due to congestive heart failure. Severe hand-foot syndrome, neutropenia, and stomatitis were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 18 months.
