Description:

Patients: This Phase I/II study involved 31 patients with metastatic colorectal cancer. Twenty-one patients were men, ten were women, and the median age was 60 years. Metastatic sites included liver, lung, and lymph nodes. Seventeen patients had not received any therapy prior to treatment. Of the 31 patients, 24 had colon cancer and 7 had rectal cancer.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of three chemotherapeutic agents: irinotecan, oxaliplatin, and raltitrexed.

Toxicity: Grade 3-4 toxicities included granulocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, diarrhea, stomatitis, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, motorneuron toxicity, and elevated liver enzymes.

Results: The median overall survival was 16.6 months. Fifteen patients had a partial response to treatment.
