Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 44 patients with advanced (stage IIIB or IV) non-small cell lung cancer. All patients had not received prior chemotherapy.

Treatment: Treatment consisted of three drugs – gemcitabine (gemzar) and vinorelbine (navelbine) followed by docetaxel (taxotere).

Toxicity: Toxicities included hematological (grade 3-4). Other grade 3 toxicities included nausea/vomiting, febrile neutropenia, pneumonitis, fatigue, hepatic dysfunction, hyponatremia, hypopotassemia, and hematuria.

Results: Median survival was 15.7 months.
