Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved previously treated metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer patients with a median age of 68 years.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agent docetaxel and the biologic therapy agent cetuximab (a monoclonal antibody against EGFR that interferes with tumor cell growth).

Toxicities:
There were two treatment-related deaths due to infection. Grade 4 allergic reaction and pain, and grade 3 fatigue and skin toxicity were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 13.3 months.
