Description:

Patients:
This study involved 45 relapsed diffuse large B-cell lymphoma patients with a median age of 58 years; 64% were male.

Treatment:
Patients received chemotherapy with gemcitabine and cisplatin and the steroid hormone methylprednisolone with or without the biologic therapy agent rituximab.

Toxicities:
There were two treatment-related deaths due to infection and neutropenia with fever. Grade 3-4 anemia, thrombocytopenia, and blood clots were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 12.6 months.
