Description:

Patients:
This study involved 24 patients with advanced urothelial carcinoma who had previously been treated with methotrexate, vinblastine, doxorubicin and cisplatin chemotherapy. The median patient age was 64.5 years and 21 were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents gemcitabine and paclitaxel.

Toxicities:
The most severe treatment toxicities were of grade 4 and included neutropenia and thrombocytopenia. Grade 2 neuropathy (nerve disorders) and skin rash were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival time was 12.4 months.
