Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 20 patients with metastatic melanoma, 13 men and 7 women.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of a form of chemotherapy, arsenic trioxide.

Toxicity: Grade 3 toxicities included neytopenia, fatigue, abdominal pain, and arthralgia.

Results: There were no responses and the median overall survival was 12 months (based on Figure 2 of the study).

Support: The study was supported by Cell Therapeutics. This company markets arsenic trioxide.
