Description:

Patients:
This phase 2 study involved 10 diffuse malignant pleural mesothelioma patients who had been previously treated with cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC (a specific method of chemotherapy). The average patient age was 51 years and 7 were male.

Treatment:
Patients were treated with the chemotherapy agents pemetrexed and cisplatin.

Toxicities:
The most severe toxicities were of grade 4 and included grade 3-4 catheter infection. Alopecia and fatigue were also reported.

Results:
The median overall survival was 33.5 months.
