Description:

Patients: This Phase II study involved 67 patients with previously untreated, advanced or metastatic breast cancer.

Treatment: The treatment consisted of three drugs – oral capecitabine (xeloda) in combination with docetaxel (taxotere) and epirubicin.

Toxicity: Grade 4 toxicities included mucositis, febrile neutropenia, and pulmonary thromboembolism. Other toxicities included nausea, asthenia, mucositis, fever, vomiting, hand-foot syndrome, paresthesia, diarrhea, bone pain, edema, and myalgia.

Results: The observation period was insufficient to determine overall survival.
